It was a coin flip, and you probably should have guessed it was a coin flip. It was another big stack, so unless he was a crazy man, he probably isn't pushing in with garbage.

If you wanted a 50 / 50 shot to double up you did the right thing. If not, you did the wrong thing. Seems pretty clear to me.

OK. I bought a book and it advocated the strategy I outlined there. I think I'll consign the book to the round filing cabinet.

(Interestingly, I posted the same question on that book's forums and they said that my play was good as it was likely I would be called by worse hands in a $3 tournament).
