You'll find more responses if you ask 'how did you lose your bankroll?'

Remind me later. Too drunk now to tell the story.

be patient and consistent. Don't change your game. It is easy to kind of relax and play passive when you are up to maintain a profit and to play more agressive when you are down to make up for losses before you stop.

be better than your opponents. If you are better than your opponents and play like it, you will win. Just don't go on idiot tilt at levels that will jeopardize your bankroll. It is ok to take shots at higher levels, but just be aware of what you are doing.

A few too many times I have played above my limit at games I wasn't very disciplined at. You can piss away a long times worth of winnings in one session if you don't have your head on straight.

Sometimes the cards don't cooperate. Don't force it. How many time do you cripple yourself in a tournament doing something stupid b/c you are card dead and then with your remaining 12 chips you get aces and flop quads?.........prob just me.

My strategy is to change my main game about every 3 days, frequently take shots well above my bankroll, and squander money away in Neteller that I never plan on using to play with, but I don't want to cash out...you know, just in case I want to play with it.
