Middle seat was all in with AA, usually a good enough hand to pull it off, except that UTG was all-in with TT and made trips. Didn't do him any good though because cutoff was also all-in with AK suited and made a flush. This would have taken the pot had BB not also been all in and nailed a straight flush ten high.

LOL. We have a home equivalent of the Arlo, which we call the MBS (named for a guy who's initials are M.B. - S for 'Special'. It's a 5-2 offsuit.

We have an unwritten rule that if you are dealt the MBS you must at least attempt to see a flop. One problem with the MBS is that while M.B. makes a killing with it - he's the only one. Everyone else gets what you would expect from playing such a powerful hand.

I did get a karmic boost this week though playing the short stack in a little home tourney I got the MBS sitting UTG - went all-in and everyone folded. From that point on a piled up chips for a little while for proving my believe in the MBS. First time I ever made money with it.

I have a friend who has that as his favourite hand too. I've had it once in live games since I realised its strength, and flopped A34 rainbow.

Lee Nelson recognizes this hand in 'Kill Phil'. Some of the situations call for a push with all hands except the worst 10%.

If you look at page 97, he lists the worst 10% as: 73 63 53 43 82 72 62 42 32

ie. not 52o !

Wow - 5-2 towers over 5-3? It must rank about 10.00000043% or something.
