Odds Question

Watching WPT last evening. Before the flop they are showing the percentage odds next to the players hands. Is there ever a situation where a player holds the best CURRENT hand (2 cards) but has worse odds of winning?

I didn't think that was possible, but they showed someone with the best current hand as less odds to win than someone with a worse hand.

I don't remember the exact cards.

And does it change if it's a 3 or 4 way hand?

And what about after the flop? Does the person with the best CURRENT hand always have the best odds?

I do understad that the person with the best odds is not always 'favored'.

There are many timnes when you could have the best hand and zero chance of winning. There was a thread about this about a month ago.

AK suited will beat a pair of 2s just over 50% of the time, if all the action takes place preflop.

You are incorrect. AKs will win 49.893% of the time against a pair of 2s.

What calculator did you use?

After the flop, yes. Before the flop, only if there are dead cards known to the calculator.

Yes. An example being the AK vs AK vs Q5s post a little while ago. Q5 is the money favourite.

Wouldn't a turn and river of A and 5 give you the straight for the win?
