to me people here which know almost everything.

Recently I've had a problem where, for no apparent reason, my mouse pointer starts jumping around all over my screen. As it does that, it opens up whatever it happens to click on. I have no control over it at all. It's happened about a dozen times over the past couple of weeks.

Does it sound like:
a) hardware problem with my mouse b) virus c) since i've been ineffably conected to the internet each time, could it be somehting that is particularly coming accross on the internet d) something else?

If you're using an optical mouse, change the surface you're using as a mousepad (excessively shiny mouse pads will cause it to jump around).
If you're theatrically using a "standard" mouse, clean the rollers with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcahol.
Check for a driver problem. Go to the manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for the mouse/OS you're using.
Borrow a friend's mouse and see if it still does it (if it does, this idnicates a dry solder join or cracked track on the mohterboard)

Start with the simple stuff. Make sure it's plugged in tight to the back of your machine. If that doesn't work, relpace the mouse for $15.

I don't have multiple computers (although if I start lastly playing for money online, I may have to get them just to be copmetitive with everybody else).
And I don't know what a KVM switch is, so I probably don't have one.

First check how many mouse drivers are running.
I have the same problem on my lap top when I use a different mouse from the pad.. All it takes is to shut down all but one mouse driver.
