On to an offshoot of this. There are plenty of sites that contend Nick Berg was not killed by Musab al-Zarqawi. You have to go to the site if you want to see the pictures.
I know Paul would say that our country would never do anything this dirty. Just google Eichmann AP Hope Yen if you want to read the inspiring story from yesterday of how the CIA kept quiet on Adolf Eicmann's location after the WW2 so Eicmann wouldn't expose a major CIA/US/Agent/NAZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII HIMSELF. The US agent/Nazi that Eicmann might have exposed was helping the US fight the commies. Now we have to give up our rights to fight the new meanace the US helped create. Did I say that? I am sorry Paul. The US never does anything remotely out of line.
Even if you say that Berg was killed by al-Zarqawi - how did he get into al-Zarqawi's hands wearing an orange prison jumpsuit after Berg's family received an e-mail saying he was in U.S. military custody. Hmmm ....
Here is a link to the US helping protect the nazi and then some Berg Conspiracy theories:

Conspiracy Theory: The Decapitation of \Nick Berg a Fraud? Posted by McPhaer on Tuesday, May 18th, 6:52 PM I am not one to buy into conspiracy theories, and I do not claim to buy into this one. It is certainly not below or even unlike Al Qaeda to murder someone on video (as we saw with Daniel Pearl), and yet, there are many issues and questions surrounding the fate of Nick Berg that remain unanswered, not talked about - and very, very curious. I admit only as much - that I am curious, and I anxiously await the day that someone begins disputing this theory with facts to the contrary (this would not be difficult). However, as it is now, there is very little 'evidence' either way, and no debate - odd considering how accessible and interesting the theory is.
The theory is this: that Nick Berg was not murdered by Al Qaeda, as the men on the video claim, but by the American government (CIA). First, let me say, that there is no 'smoking gun,' or anything even close to being that conclusive. What there is, however, is a small mountain of tiny pieces of evidence which, by themselves, seem circumstantial or unimportant, but taken together, offer at least an interesting (if not compelling) explanation for the event. At the very least, we get to attack the Monkey-Demon administration, so what do we have to lose?
* Both the US military and the Iraqi police deny that Nick Berg was ever in their custody. However, Nick Berg's family received an email from Beth A. Payne, the U.S. consular officer in Iraq, stating that Ms. Payne had located Nick, and that he was in the custody of the US military. This was the last time that Nick Berg was known to be alive.
son, Nick, is being detained by the U.S. military in Mosul. He is safe. He was picked up approximately one week ago. We will try to obtain additional information regarding his detention and a contact person you can communicate with directly.'
* Nick Berg was wearing a U.S. issued, orange prison jumpsuit in the decapitation video, as you can see in the photo below (photo #1), and in the photo of another prisoner of the U.S. military (photo #2). Contrast this with the photo of Daniel Pearl (photo #3), who was kept in his own clothes. Terrorists do not issue orange prison uniforms. If Nick was last held in U.S. hands, in what possible manner could he have been released that he could not even change his clothes before being abducted by his eventual murderers? Was he transferred directly to an unknown third party?
* Other evidence that the U.S. military was involved, is the presence of what appears to be a standard issue chair in military bases in the area. Note the chair Berg is sitting in (photo #1) and the chair seen in Abu Ghraib prison (photo #4), and the one being used by two of the, now infamous, Iraqi-prisoner abusers (photo #5). They appear to be three identical chairs. While it is possible that the local Walmart supplies both the U.S. military and Al Qaeda operatives with the same white, plastic chairs, it is curious.
* Berg does not move an inch in the decapitation video - even when he is attacked. There is no instinctive struggle or kicking leg as he was pulled to the floor, or even so much as a twitch. Also, the 'scream' added to the video sounds very woman-like and amateurishly dubbed in. Finally, when the killer hold's up Berg's decapitated head to the camera, there is no flowing blood visible, either from the body or from the head. Doctor's have stated that, were a living person to be decapitated in such a manner, there would literally be gushes of blood from the central arteries. Instead, there is not a drop. All of this lends some evidence to the thought that Berg may have already been dead when the video was shot, and that this was a staged event.
* The man in the video who reads the script and then decapitates Berg claims to be Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a high-level Jordanian Al Qaeda operative. The C.I.A. agreed, and indentifed the man as Zarqawi.Yet CNN's and other linguists claim the man does not speak with a Jordanian accent, and Zaqrawi is alleged to both: 1) wear and use a prosthetic leg, and 2) have been killed a couple of months ago. Also, if he planned to identify himself in the video, why wear a mask at all? - his face is already well known througout the world. Possibly, this is because it was not really Zaqrawi in the video. Also, it would be convenient to blame the incident on someone that, for certain, will not be showing up anytime soon (if he is indeed already dead).
* The man in the videotape who is purported to be Zarqawi is wearing a gold ring. This is absolutely proscribed by Islamic law. Furthermore, it is on his left hand - 'the sinister hand, the hand that Islam reserves for toilet functions.'
* Some of the men in the video appear to be both fat, and white (if not, very light) in skin color (photo #6). One of them is wearing tennis shoes. Contrast this with the image of Daniel Pearl's abductors - note the dress and skin color.
* The terrorist on the far-left stands at military parade rest.
* Some linguists believe some of the men speak Russian towards the end of the video.
* Some of the men are wearing bullet-proof vests - much more common in American prison MP's than Al Qaeda operatives, if previous videos and photos of Al Qaeda members are any indicator.
* Firearms experts have stated that the AK-47 carried by one man was in fact a 'Gilal' - an Israeli-made weapon that improves on the famous AK- 47. Feyadeen and other insurgents almost universally use AK-47s.
* The timing of the decapitation was very good for George Bush, and very bad for Al Qaeda. I remember thinking the morning I heard of the event, that it was a very bad P.R. move for Al Qaeda, because it took the heat off the Bush administration right at the moment they were getting reamed over prisoner abuse photos. This is a motive - taking the heat off of the pentagon, and putting it back on the terrorists. Al Qaeda is well versed in psyops, so it is doubtful that they would play such a bad card, or engage in mass-media tit-for-tat when Iraqis have been imprisoned by the U.S. military for over a year now.
* And, perhaps most amazingly, I have read in a few places that Berg's email address and password were found with Zacarias Moussaoui, the alleged 20th hijacker, but who was detained before 9/11 took place. Apparently, Berg and Moussaoui met on a bus, at one point. If this is true, you would think it would be all over the media outlets - and if it were not true, that it would be discredited.
There are more pieces of evidence, believe it or not, but these were the ones that jumped out at me. So, what does everyone think? It's at least an interesting theory, no?
Some other sites talking about it are here and here and here and here.
