Bad Beat, Flop, Fifth street, Hi lo, Short stack, Tells, Tilt, these are just part of the words a novice poker player might run into in duration of a game. For someone new to the world of poker, it might seem like a completely different language, so to play a good game of poker, one should familiarize themselves with both the rules and the lingo. I have compiled a list of several sites that all have term glossaries that will help you find your way. I recommend you visit all the links, since each of these lists are edited differently, it would be a matter of personal taste as to which of the links is more useful

Wishing you a poker career lacking in bad beats :-)
